Creative Impulse Group

Don’t be an artist. Create.

2020 revealed one thing to most of us. Working online is possible. Many of us started working from home. We adjusted quickly. The shadow side showed itself several months later. Being on ZOOM 5-8 hours a day is more than monotonous. During work time, no catching up with colleagues over lunch. After work no cinema, concerts, museums and other inspiring activities.

In that time I heard one question very often. People from the corporate world, who where now missing these social endeavours would approach me and ask: “Margo, how can I bring more creativity into my daily life?”

This is how Creative Impulse Group was born.

“Margo is a kind and intuitive guide on your creative journey, bringing in her knowledge and experience for your benefit. I highly recommend exploring your creativity with her!”

— Stephanie Hild, bookkeeper

“This was the best decision ever. With Margo opening up to creativity is fun, easy and delicious. She knows how to tease and help you to go beyond what you can ever imagine.”

— Gabi Gogan, creative coach

“Margo holds space for whatever arises, always being present in the moment. With her as a guide, I enjoy not knowing what is going to happen. For me this is challenging and a lot of fun!”

— Begoña Gilabert, founder BeHonest

Stop trying and enjoy the challenge

It is common for people to think that in order to draw, write, sing, dance or act we need some sort of basic skills at the very least. But this is untrue. The only thing you need is a willingness to try, and especially to create things that you may first judge as ‘not good.’

Creatively playing outside familiar structures is a fantastic way to open up new ways of thinking. You will see your team in a completely different light and have loads of fun in the process. I have often heard that a sense of delight in the world and a capacity to connect with others grows as a result of the work.

How it works

During a Creative Impulse Group I am your guide. I take you through a series of impulses that are all connected to each other. By the end you will find yourself doing something artistic that you wouldn’t have dreamed possible before!

This is because the tasks that I give are building on each other in subtle ways so that you can immerse yourself in the experience of playing outside the box. According to my participants, having fun in the process of creating is so much more important than the end result. And the more you do this the more obvious this gets.

Live and online

It is possible to do a C.I.G. workshop live or online. Since the format was created for Zoom, one of the core elements of this workshop when done online is the use of the platform in creative ways. I will ask you to rethink the frame, the camera, the possibility to break out in pairs, the chat function, muting and unmuting, and so on - as play tools in the session.

My aim is for you to leave the sessions invigorated, provoked and excited. And then take these qualities with you into your day.

Go ahead, struggle through it. Generally, a thing cannot freeze if it is moving. So move. Keep moving.”
